The LaGrange Police Department’s Emergency Service Unit is responsible
for responding to cases that involve hostages, barricaded suspects, suicidal
suspects, woodland searches, civil disorder, high risk demonstrations,
dignitary protections, and high risk warrant services. The emergency Service
Unit is made up of sixteen highly trained tactical officers and five highly
trained crisis negotiators and is commanded by the criminal Investigations
Section’s Lieutenant. This unit is committed to the professional
and safe resolution of all high-risk situations with emphasis on negotiated
resolution.
