The LaGrange Police Department conducts an annual Senior Citizens Police Academy at the Troup County Senior Citizens Center on Ragland Street. The 6-week program is an effective tool for keeping our seniors involved in the department's educational and prevention activities. General topics for the one hour, weekly sessions included Burglary and Theft Prevention, Frauds and Scams against the Elderly, Financial Safety, Driver Education and Recognizing Elder Abuse. A total of 125 citizens participated in the recent graduation ceremonies.
