The LaGrange Police Department is committed to providing the citizens
of LaGrange with all available resources in order prevent theft of personal
property and to aid in the recovery there of. One of these resources
is the LaGrange Police Department’s Bicycle Registration Program.
The LaGrange Police Department maintains a database that can store information
pertaining to the ownership of bicycles to include the make/model and
serial number of the bicycle and to whom it belongs. This information
is maintained in our database and can be accessed by any of the information
obtained during the registration process. If you purchase a bicycle
we can maintain pertinent information regarding the ownership of the
bicycle in the event that your bicycle is stolen. We can access the
information immediately thereby allowing us to place the bicycle on
the state wide crime information database. This way, if the bicycle
is recovered the serial number can be searched on the database and the
owner of the bicycle can be notified. Bicycle Theft Reduction Cards
are passed out to all citizens when we respond to a call for service
when a citizen’s bicycle is stolen. However, this resource is
available to all citizens.
Please call the LaGrange Police Department at 706-883-2603 for additional
information.
